Well with Aliyah...the majority of cases are depended on the Mother being Jewish. I've had a few other players try and do the same process but they had their Father as the main Jewish parent. I would look into it further and call the closest Israeli Consulate to have your questions answered. http://www.israeliconsulatela.org/ Is a good starting point, but good luck calling...they never answer or get back. Almost positive that unless it's your Mother, it's very difficult. In my case, I went to the Consulate in Los Angeles, started my paper work and once I touched down in Israel, I was basically in the system and considered a dual citizen. So yes, if you make it..you are immediately Israeli. You will get your temporary Passport which in ISraeli is good enough to play ball as them. To obtain the full citizenship, you need a year of living in Israel. There's also an issue with the Israeli army, all citizens are required to some amount of time. Maybe an exemption can be given, but it's a weird issue for someone making Aliyah. I'm always scared of that, but was told that I'm safe from being called up. Just the straight facts, not to scare you though. Hope I pointed you in the right direction. Any more questions e-mail me talldustin@gmail.com

Deezy,

Hilarious blog, was hoping you could help shed some light on my situation. I played Division 1 ball here in the states and am looking to make Aliyah (Father and grandparents are jewish) in order to play ball in Israel. I was hoping that you could provide some insight in regards to the process. Specifically, are you considered an Israeli once you make Aliyah and can play as an Israeli immediately? If you get a chance to drop me aline that would be great. My email is enclosed.

All the best,

J.

No sign away! Can't tell you how much I loved that place. This was more about my first time leaving American into foreign lands. The basketball and everything that comes with it is quite amazing. Don't even hesitate if you are signing there. If you have more questions leave me your email and I can contact you! Good luck!

Like I said...if I could write about all these things...I'd need a book! The Hummus underground market was a crazy one. Things were made of Hummus. Just imagine a whole house made of Hummus. Don't know how they didn't eat it!

Maintianing any political comments to the side, awesome blog!

You should mention your developing poker addiction at this time that forced you to become the secret hit man for the underground gangsters that controlled the hummus marketsand how you had to "witness" the murdering of many a Jew.

Just kidding.
